Invicta recently launched a new collection of watches – the Invicta Reserve Thin. Invicta has always been known for their strikingly oversized timepieces, but recently this iconic brand has been in the spotlight with their Reserve Thin watches as they really go against the grain of the brand’s recognizable DNA. Invicta tasked itself with producing thinner watches, but the brand didn’t stop there and created an ultra-thin watch rivalling creations by other major watch manufacturers. Some watch pundits, including myself, didn’t know how this watch would be greeted by the public but so far the response has been very positive.
These watches are crafted from 316L stainless steel, a type of stainless that is known for its resistance to corrosion, and hypoallergenic properties. The ‘L’ in the moniker refers to it containing a low amount of carbon atoms. This type of steel also results in the case having a minimal wall thickness – around 1mm thick. The case is brushed as opposed to polished, enhancing the dressy nature of these watches. The case also features a unidirectional bezel, which sits very flat. The bezel is manipulated due to the coin edge finish. A sapphire crystal is also used to minimize case height, as this only requires a 0.5mm thickness to be effective. The only trade off where this watch is concerned is the water resistance, which stands at 2 ATM or 20 meters. This means that you should avoid contact with water. As with all Invicta watches, there are many options with both case materials and strap options.
The dials are brushed as well, with just the hour and minute hands visible. The indexes are in military time, and the minute markers are featured on the rehaut. Powering this new collection are quartz movements. As with all Invicta watches, these models come with a 5 year warranty.
